Railroad clearance point markers identify how far to shove a car past a switch so that trains can safely clear a cut of cars if moving on an adjacent track. Our 8″ tall clearance point markers are made of a flexible poly-urethane compound that allows direct impact to our track markers from objects, and an immediate return to an upright position. Made with 3M High Intensity Prismatic reflective material, operators are able to see clearance points in day and night operating, and still view the fouling point in several inches of snow.
Don’t Foul Your Track
Operators need to safely and quickly know where to put a cut of cars so it is not in the way adjacent tracks. Clearance Markers are placed past the “pinch point” to identify the clearance needed between two adjacent tracks. This also allows operators to ride on cars in situations where this is appropriate, without concern of being caught between two rail cars.
